Remembering the businesses that left us in the 2010s

The last five years has seen many longtime businesses close.

The 2010s was a decade change for the Richmond Highway area, and with the passage of Embark Richmond Highway in 2018, the next few decades are primed for a complete overhaul of many areas of the Route 1 corridor.

But a lot of longtime businesses shut their doors over the last 10 years, including some classics, such as Mike’s Italian Restaurant, Rorer’s Produce and Peking Duck. Here’s a list of some of the businesses that have gone, and we’ll add more as you remember them.

    Makes me sad to see some of these changes! I lived there for 30 years and moved away in 2005. I frequented many of these establishments over the years and probably will not recognize the area When I visit! Loved being there!
