Rite Aid in Aldi shopping center closes

The Rite Aid at the Aldi shopping center has closed.

The Rite Aid located in the Aldi shopping center at the intersection of Richmond Highway and Russell Road (see map) has officially closed its doors.

According to signage on and around the store, the Rite Aid will temporarily reopen on Friday for a liquidation sale, offering 50 percent off regularly priced items. The pharmacy will remain closed and has transferred all customer prescriptions and records to the Walgreens at 7629 Richmond Highway (see map).

A phone call placed to the Rite Aid for further information was automatically forwarded to the Walgreens.

The store is the second Rite Aid in the Richmond Highway area to close since Walgreens completed its acquisition of all Rite Aid stores last year. The Beacon Hill Rite Aid closed in June after more than 20 years at the corner of Beacon Hill Road and Route 1.
