New buffet-style restaurant coming to former Old Country Buffet location

A new buffet-style restaurant will be replacing the shuttered Old Country Buffet on Route 1 in Hybla Valley.
Brandie Ford of Finmarc Management, Inc., who manages the Mount Vernon Crossroads Shopping Center, confirmed that a lease has been signed for the space but would not divulge the name of the new restaurant.
Applications for permits to renovate the interior of 7820 Richmond Highway, the location of the former Old Country Buffet, list “Hibachi Buffet,” as the new occupant.
Old Country Buffet closed in February after the chain’s parent company, Buffets LLC, declared bankruptcy.
Mount Vernon Crossroads’ other current tenants include Ross, Mattress Warehouse, Rick’s Carpet and Flooring, Pep Boys and Dollar Tree.
If it’s another location of the Hibachi Buffet in Richmond, this could be a good thing.
