Police blotter: Penn Daw 7-Eleven robbed again

A 7-Eleven in the Penn Daw area was robbed for the second time in two months on Friday, according to the Fairfax County police.

Around 9:45 p.m. a man walked into the store, pulled out a knife and demanded the clerk hand over case, police said.

No injuries were reported by the police.

The same 7-Eleven, located at 6138 North Kings Highway (see map), was robbed at gunpoint on October 23, one of three 7-Eleven robberies reported in the Richmond Highway area over a span of about 10 days.

No arrests have been announced for any of the robberies.

Other incidents reported in the Mount Vernon police district over the Thanksgiving weekend:

Robbery: A person was walking home in the 4000 block of Buckman Road around 5:30 p.m. on November 30 when several men assaulted them and took personal items.

Traffic pursuit/accident with injury: An officer saw a BMW sedan make an illegal turn and attempted a traffic stop at the intersection of Martha Washington Street and Lawrence Street on November 30 around 1 a.m. The driver refused to pull over and an officer pursued the car until it crashed a short distance away. Two occupants were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. Charges for the driver are pending further investigation.

Burglary: Four suspects broke into a concession stand at Mount Vernon High School on November 27 around 4:50 p.m. and stole property.
