Sea Boil Crab House reopening after dealing with building issues
Sea Boil Crab House is reopening for business Monday after having closed for more than two weeks because of an issue with equipment at the restaurant.
The restaurant, which is located at 7305 Richmond Highway in Hybla Valley, has been closed since April 27. A Facebook post on Monday said Sea Boil was reopening at 3 p.m. and then resuming normal business hours moving forward.
“Don’t call it a come back, we are gonna be here for years,” the message said, riffing off of LL Cool J’s 1991 hit “Mama Said Knock You Out.”
Sea Boil had cited issues with its cooking equipment when it paused operations in April.
The previous tenant at Sea Boil’s location also cited the building issues when they closed in November 2017. That restaurant, 2 Bros. Soul Food, posted a video of water leaking into the kitchen from the roof shortly after the establishment shuttered after less than a year in business. 2 Bros. had also closed temporarily due to electrical issues after it opened.
Sea Boil has proven popular since its opening in November 2018, with solid online reviews and a crowded parking lot most weekends.
This building is garbage. Every restaurant that comes to this building has issues. They all need to sue the owner of the building.
I’m so glad the closing was temporary. I really like this place. It’s a great addition to the neighborhood. I wish the owners would really invest in updating the place.
