Police blotter: Another business in Mount Vernon Plaza broken into

China One in the Mount Vernon Plaza shopping center was burglarized early Wednesday morning, according to Thursday’s Fairfax County Police blotter.

Someone broke into the restaurant, located at 7700 Richmond Highway (see map), around 5 a.m. and took cash, police said. No suspect description was given.

China One is at least the fourth business in Mount Vernon Plaza to be burglarized since late October. This past weekend someone broke into Aquatic Adventures Scuba Academy, which is just four doors down from China One, and took property. The now-closed Wings To Go restaurant on the other side of the plaza was burglarized on Nov. 12, and an electronics store around the corner was hit on Oct. 29

Two residential burglaries were also reported in Thursday’s blotter. The first happened Tuesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. in the 7500 block of Coxton Court (see map). Police someone entered the home and took “personal items.”

On Monday morning, someone burglarized a residence in the 7100 block of Fairchild Drive. A person or persons entered an apartment around 11:15 a.m. and took electronics, according to police.
