The Huntington farmers market will be back for its third season starting April 27.

The market will again be located near the North Kings Highway entrance to the Huntington metro, across the street from the Huntington Station shopping center (see map). It will be open every Thursday from 3 p.m to 7 p.m.

The Huntington market began in 2015 and is one of seven operated by Smart Markets. The founder of Smart Markets, Jean Jannsen, passed away in November, but her husband Bill has kept the company going.

“[Jean] viewed her markets as a way to provide better and healthier (producer-only) food to her customers, but also as a way to help her vendors make a living or start a new business,” Bill Jannsen said in a Facebook message following Jean’s death. “She helped innumerable people during this time by devoting many hours a week overseeing and promoting the markets. Although no one can replace her, the market managers and I are committed to continue operating the markets in the way Jean would expect. And you can be sure that Jean will be with us every step of the way.”
