Police blotter: Man seen fondling himself near middle school

Update 8/26/16: Police have made an arrest in this case. 

A man was seen touching himself inappropriately in a car near Carl Sandburg Middle School yesterday, and then talking to a nearby child, according to today’s Fairfax County Police blotter.

The incident occurred around 6:20 p.m. in the 2000 block of Old Stage Road in the Fort Hunt area. A resident contacted police after seeing the man touching himself in his car. The man in the car later pulled up next to a child and asked for directions “to a local middle school,” according to the police report. Carl Sandburg Middle School is located a short distance from where the incident happened.

According to police, the suspect drove off when the person who called police approached the child to see if everything was OK.

Police did not have information about the type of car involved or the age of the suspect.
