Fairhaven Avenue 7-Eleven robbed

The 7-Eleven at 2405 Fairhaven Avenue was robbed early this morning, the second time in less than a year the store has been held up and the latest in a series of 7-Eleven robberies in the area over the past year.

The assailant walked in and pulled a knife on two store employees around 2:26 a.m., according to the Fairfax County Police blotter. He took cash and merchandise before fleeing in a silver Toyota Corolla with Maryland tags, police said. Nobody was injured.

The robbery is at least the seventh robbery of a corridor-area 7-Eleven in the past 10 months. The most recent incident occurred on May 18, when a clerk was injured during a violent holdup at a 7-Eleven on Mount Vernon Memorial Highway, just east of Route 1.

The Fairhaven 7-Eleven was previously hit last August during a multi-jurisdiction armed robbery spree that caught the attention of the FBI.  The location also saw trouble last month when a customer was stabbed during an attempted mugging outside the store.
