Police blotter: February 21-27

The following incidents in the Mount Vernon Police District were reported by the Fairfax County Police in this past week’s police blotters. The listing is not a comprehensive report on all crimes reported to police during the week.

Incidents report in Friday’s blotter:

Pursuit/Narcotics Violation: An officer attempted to make a traffic stop on a Nissan Altima near the intersection of Buckman Road and Groombridge way on February 27 around 10:50 p.m. The driver sped away, resulting in a short pursuit. A 41-year-old Woodbridge man was arrested and charged with several narcotic violations, felony driving after license revoked for DWI and felony disregard police command to stop.

Larceny: 3700 block of Shannons Green Way, jewelry from residence
Larceny: 7400 block of Vernon Square Drive, property from location

From Wednesday’s blotter:

Larceny: 3500 block of Buckman Road, purse and phone from vehicle
Larceny: 5900 block of Richmond Highway, alcohol from business

Larceny: 8200 block of Richmond Highway, merchandise from business
Larceny: 7400 block of Mount Vernon Square, alcohol from business
Larceny: 6200 block of Richmond Highway, cigarettes from business

From Monday’s blotter:

Burglary: Someone broke into a home in the 6300 block of Fort Hunt Road on February 23 around 3:15 p.m. and stole personal property.

Commercial burglary: Walmart employees confronted two males who had broken into the store at 7910 Richmond Highway around 4:50 a.m. The males ran away and nothing appeared to have been stolen.

Burglary: Officers were in the area of the 3500 block of Lady Anne Court around 4 a.m. on February 23 for a report of two men pulling on car door handles. Officers saw two men nearby run out of an open garage. Nothing appeared to have been stolen.

Stolen Auto/DWI/Hit and Run: Officers responded to the 8000 block of Fordson Road on February 23 around 8 a.m. after a car hit a tree. The driver ran from the scene, but officers found the juvenile driver a short distance away and learned that the 2019 Toyota C-HR was stolen. The juvenile was charged with auto theft, DWI, refusal, hit and run, driving without a license and underage possession of tobacco.
