Part of Collingwood Road to be closed next week

A section of Collingwood Road will be closed between Wednesday and Friday next week so that a stormwater pipe can be replaced.

Collingwood will be closed between Riverside Road and Fort Hunt Road starting at 9 a.m. on Wednesday and lasting through 4 p.m. on Friday, according to VDOT.

People who live along the closed section of Collingwood Road will be able to access their properties, VDOT said. However normal traffic will be diverted to Cool Spring Drive via Fort Hunt Road or Riverside Road, and then back to Collingwood.

Weather conditions could affect the schedule of work, VDOT said.
