New laundromat to replace closed Forest Laundromat

A new laundromat will be replacing the former Forest Laundromat in Hybla Valley.
A company named Metro Laundromat has secured permits and begun to work on the building, which is located at 7500 Richmond Highway (see map).
As of Saturday all of the old washers and dryers had been removed. A contractor has also applied for permits to do roof repair work to the building, which was built in 1956 according to county records.
The Forest Laundromat, a 24-hour laundromat and highway mainstay for many years with its neon sign, closed in early 2019. The building also has two other spaces for business, with a barber shop occupying one and the other vacant.
