Storck’s office hosting Senior Safety Summit on Wednesday

Mount Vernon District Supervisor Dan Storck’s office is hosting a safety summit for senior citizens on Wednesday morning at the Mount Vernon Governmental Center.

A number of public agencies will take part in the event, including the Fairfax Fire & Rescue Department, the Fairfax County Police Department, the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office, the Department of Public Safety Communications, the Fairfax County Health Department and the Department of Cable and Consumer Services.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to noon. During the first hour attendees can look through informational booths on site and then at 10 a.m. presentations will begin. The presentations will cover:

  • File of Life Program (Given by Fairfax Fire & Rescue)
  • How to Defend Yourself from Scams/Frauds (Given by Fairfax County Police)
  • Project Lifesaver (Given by the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office)
  • Examining Financial Exploitation of Older Adults (Given by Fairfax County’s Department of Family Services)
  • Services for Older Adults (Presented by Family Services – Division of Adult and Aging Services)
  • Next Generation 9-1-1 (Presented by the county’s Public Safety Communications)
  • Cable and Consumer Services Information (Presented by Cable and Consumer Services)
