Man wounded in Buckman Road area shooting
A man suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a shooting in the Buckman Road area on Thursday afternoon, police said.
The shooting happened sometime after 12:30 p.m. in 8300 block of Claremont Woods Drive (see map). The shooting victim was taken to a local hospital.
A police spokesman said that the investigation into the shooting is ongoing and that further information was not immediately available. No arrest has been made.
The shooting was blocks away from where a brief police standoff occurred last Friday. That incident, which took place in the 8300 block of Brockham Drive (see map), was related to a stabbing that took place earlier that morning in front of the Gerry Hyland Government Center in the 8300 block of Richmond Highway.
Police arrested Richard Davis, 52, and charged him with malicious wounding in connection with the stabbing. Davis remains in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He is scheduled to have a bond hearing on Friday, according to Fairfax General District Court records online. He is being represented by attorney Martin Mooradian, according to court records.
