Pupusas Express aiming to open next week in former Cosmopolitan location

A new Hybla Valley pupuseria is hoping to open next Monday in the space formerly occupied by Cosmopolitan Grill.

Pupusas Express will specialize in its namesake, a traditional Salvadoran specialty consisting of thick corn flatbread filled with cheese, beans or meat. The restaurant will also feature quesadillas, tacos and carne asada dishes, as well as various soups and traditional Salvadoran drinks, said Julia Argueta, a manager of Pupusas Express.

The restaurant is located between Results Fitness and Pho 777 at 7770 Richmond Highway (see map). It occupies the space used by Cosmopolitan Grill for 11 years. Cosmopolitan closed at the end of May.

Pupusas Express will operate from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. to start, Argueta said. Once they are settled in, they hope to open earlier to serve breakfast as well.
