Police blotter: Same man suspected in exposures; arrest made after daytime shooting
A man allegedly opened fire on a tree from inside of his home in the Woodlawn area during the middle of the day last Friday, according to Tuesday’s Fairfax County Police blotter.
Neighbors called police around 2:15 p.m. after hearing gunfire in the 8700 block of Lukens Lane (see map). When officers arrived, they determined a 41-year-old was shooting at a tree from his home, according to the police.
When officers attempted to arrest the suspect, he “briefly” resisted, according to the police.
The suspect was charged with felony discharging a firearm within a residence, misdemeanor reckless handling of a firearm and misdemeanor resisting arrest. He was released on his own recognizance, according to court records.

Exposure: A man exposed himself to a juvenile and ran away around 2:55 p.m. Sunday in the 7600 block of Richmond Highway. The suspect was described as Hispanic, in his 40s, with short black hair. Detectives believe it is related to the exposure that occurred the next day (see below).
Exposure: A man exposed himself to two juveniles and ran away around 11:55 a.m. on Monday in the 8700 block of Richmond Highway. The suspect was described as Hispanic, in his 40s, with short black hair. Detectives believe it is related to the exposure that occurred the previous day in the 7600 block of Richmond Highway.
Traffic Pursuit: Officers attempted a traffic stop after seeing an Oldsmobile with defective equipment near the intersection of Richmond Highway and Janna Lee Avenue around 3:15 a.m. Sunday morning. The driver disregarded the officer’s signal and drove away before stopping and running. Officers could not locate the subject, however when they began to tow away his car the driver allegedly returned and jumped into his car in an attempt to get away. Officers arrested a 43-year-old Alexandria man. He was charged with unauthorized use of a car, disregard police command to stop, possession of a schedule I/II drug and preventing a law enforcement officer from making an arrest.
Unlawful Entry: A man entered a home in the 9600 block of Ferry Harbour Court around 12:26 a.m. on Saturday and left without taking anything. He was described as a white man in his 40s, heavy set, 5’8”, wearing suit pants and a shirt.
Burglary: Someone broke into a home in the 5800 block of Berkshire Court around 4:40 p.m. on Monday and stole personal property.
Burglary/Destruction of Property: Someone broke into a home in 5800 block of Wyomissing Court around 3:50 p.m. on Monday and damaged property and stole personal items.
Larceny: 3100 block of Lockheed Boulevard, merchandise from business

Larceny: 2500 block of Parkers Lane, jewelry and clothing from residence
