Inova Mount Vernon names new president
Inova announced Tuesday that Roberta A. Tinch, MHA, FACHE has been named the new president of Inova Mount Vernon Hospital.
Tinch comes to Inova Mount Vernon from HCA Johnston-Willis Hospital in Richmond, where she served as chief operating officer since December 2017. Prior to that Tinch was chief operating officer at HCA Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center in Fredericksburg and Associate Chief Operating Officer at HCA Brandon Regional Hospital in Tampa.
Tinch replaces Dr. Don Brideau, who left Inova Mount Vernon last December to become the president of Inova Fairfax Oaks Hospital. Dr. Joseph Pina served as acting president of Inova Mount Vernon and Chief Medical Officer as the hospital conducted its search for a replacement.
Tinch began her new role September 16. She will also serve as the hospital’s administrator of the Musculoskeletal service line.
“This dual role, combining both hospital President and service line Administrator, is an example of how we are implementing our new operating model,” J. Stephen Jones, MD, President and CEO, Inova, said in a press release. “Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is recognized for excellence with a strong community presence. Combining leadership of the hospital and administration of the Musculoskeletal service line will further facilitate the delivery of highly reliable care across our health system.”
A Virginia native, Tinch is a graduate of the University of Virginia and earned her master’s of health administration degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Welcome Ms. Tinch!
