The Fairfax County Fire Marshal’s Office is looking for the public’s help in solving two suspicious fires at the Beacon Hill Apartments this past weekend.

The first fire happened around 1:15 a.m. on Saturday in the 3300 block of Southgate Drive. Fairfax Fire and Rescue said in a press release that the fire was caused by an “improvised incendiary device” that had been placed against an apartment door.

The second fire happened two days later in a different building in the apartment complex. That fire, which broke out about 12:33 a.m. Monday morning in the 6600 block of Tower Drive, was caused by an ignitable liquid in the stairwell, Fairfax Fire and Rescue said.

Neither fire displaced any residents and no injuries were reported.

The fire marshal is asking anyone with information about the fires to submit their tips through Crime Solvers. You can either call 1-866-411-8477, text “FCCS” plus your tip to 847411, or leave a tip on the website here. Tipsters are eligible for rewards between $100-$1,000 if the tip leads to an arrest, according to the fire department.
