A culvert replacement project near Boswell Avenue got off to a late start and will require a Hybla Valley side street to be closed until September 13, VDOT said Thursday.

The project, which is replacing stream culvert under Delafield Place, was originally expected to require the road to be closed between August 26 and September 5. But the road closure didn’t actually begin until the street was dug up until earlier this week.

Residents, school buses and emergency vehicles will still have access to the road, but won’t be able to beyond the location of the repair work in either direction.

VDOT says traffic will be detoured via Boswell Avenue, Frances Drive and Brentwood Place.
