Police blotter: Businesses burglarized at Hayfield Center

Four businesses in the Hayfield Center were burglarized on the same night earlier this week, according to Friday’s Fairfax County Police blotter.

The break-ins happened sometime between 10 p.m. Wednesday night and 5:15 a.m. Thursday morning at four eateries in the plaza, which is located at the intersection of Telegraph Road and Hayfield Road (see map). Hot Bagel, Katana Sushi, Stone Hot Pizza and House of Dynasty were all victimized, according to police.

In each instance, the suspect or suspects broke the glass of the front door to gain access to the business and then proceed to steal cash. No suspect descriptions were given by police.

That same night a restaurant on Richmond Highway was also broken into in similar manner, Friday’s blotter said. Around 3:30 a.m. someone broke the front glass door and entered the Family Fortune Restaurant, located in the 2900 block of Arlington Drive (see map). The suspect or suspects took cash from the register.

Police did not say if they believe the Richmond Highway break-in and the Hayfield Center break-ins were related.
