An 18-year-old man faces DWI charges following Monday’s four-vehicle crash on Fordson Road that left eight people with minor injuries.

Rudy Martin Torres, a resident of the Richmond Highway area, was charged with DWI, felony hit and run, driving with a revoked license and misdemeanor reckless driving, according to online court records.

Police say Torres was driving a 2007 Ford F-150 while intoxicated when the crash occurred around 12:45 p.m. in the 7600 block of Fordson Road (see map). Torres was not injured in the crash, but two passengers his vehicle sustained injuries, according to a police spokesman.

The crash left vehicles and debris scattered across the roadway, closing Fordson Road in both directions in front of Mount Vernon Plaza. Two of the vehicles involved ended up off the road, but no pedestrian injuries were reported.
