Man injured in shooting on Janna Lee Avenue
A man was shot and wounded after argument near the intersection of Janna Lee Avenue and Buckman Road on Monday night, according to the Fairfax County Police.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting, which happened around 10:50 p.m. in the 8800 block of Janna Lee Avenue (see map), according to the police. The incident is not believed to be gang-related, according to the police.
Police say two men were arguing with the victim when one pulled a gun and shot him. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that police said were non-life-threatening.
The suspects were described by the police as black men in their 20s.

Incidents reported in Monday’s police blotter from the Mount Vernon police district:
Assault: A man entered a store in the 5900 block of Richmond Highway on July 12 around 6:20 p.m. and became disorderly and refused to leave. A customer intervened and the man displayed a knife. The man briefly left the store, but returned moments later, assaulted the customer and left in a blue Chevy Impala. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. The suspect is described as black man, wearing a white tank top and black jeans.
Assault on Law Enforcement/Obstruction of Justice: On July 13 around 12:05 a.m. an officer stopped to assist a woman being chased by a man in a store parking lot in the 8200 block of Russell Road. A 38-year-old Alexandria man, who had been banned from the business, became disorderly and assaulted the officer. He continued to assault officers as they tried to arrest him. The man was charged with obstruction of justice and two counts of assault on law enforcement.
Trespassing/Drunk in Public: A resident reported in the 2400 block of Midtown Avenue that an intoxicated man followed them into a secure parking garage around 1:30 a.m. on July 13. An officer saw the man trying to enter several cars. A 32-year-old Annandale man was banned from the property and charged with unlawful entry and drunk in public.
Commercial Burglary: Officers responded to the Ourisman Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge of Alexandria dealership in the 5900 Richmond Highway around 4 a.m. on July 14 for three suspects on the property stealing goods. When officers arrived, the three suspects attempted to run away, but were quickly caught with K9’s assistance. An 18-year-old Washington D.C. man was charged with two counts of grand larceny, two counts of burglary, destruction of property, petit larceny and providing false info to avoid arrest. Two juveniles face similar charges.
