Confession video in Moussa murder: NBC Washington obtained the video confession of Nebiyu Ebrahim, who pled guilty last week to murdering 16-year-old Jholie Moussa. Ebrahim told Fairfax County Police detectives during the confession that he went into a “blind rage” when he killed Moussa, who attended Mount Vernon High School.

Warner sends letter to FBI on Ghaisar case: The FBI has still not released its findings in its investigation of the U.S. Park Police’s shooting of Bijan Ghaisar on Fort Hunt Road in November 2017, and last week Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) joined Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Neb.) in pushing the agency for answers. Warner and Grassley said the FBI’s handling of the case was “weakening the trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve.”

Edison, Bryant recognized: Edison High School and Bryant High School were among 16 schools in Fairfax County recognized last week by the Board of Education with the board’s Continuous Improvement Award. The award goes to schools who reach one of a number of benchmarks defined by the state over a three-year period.
