Fiona’s Irish Pub in Kingstowne has closed for good.
A message on the restaurant’s website Tuesday morning confirmed the closing.
“We are sorry to report that Fiona’s Irish Pub has closed Permanently,” the website message said. “Thanks for all the support.”
The closure appeared to catch many people off guard, including the campaign of Lee District Supervisor candidate Rodney Lusk, who had planned to hold his primary night watch event at Fiona’s. Lusk sent an email message to supporters on Monday night telling them the event would now be held at the Embassy Suites By Hilton in Springfield.
Located at 5810 Kingstowne Center (see map), Fiona’s opened its doors in May 2014. Fiona’s was owned by Martin White, who in April of this year opened a second location in Arlington.
A representative for Fiona’s said in a Facebook message that the Arlington location would remain open, but had closed temporarily to address issues with the building. The representative also said that White was exiting as owner.
