16 year old still missing, police say last spotted at West Potomac

Police reported June 17 that the missing girl had been found alive and is safe. Because she is a minor, her name and picture have been removed from this article.

The Fairfax County Police are continuing to investigate the disappearance of 16-year-old [name removed] who has been missing for two weeks.

On Tuesday the police gave an update on the investigation, saying that [name removed] was last seen around 8 a.m. May 22 at West Potomac High School, where she is a student. Previously police had believed that [name removed] was last seen that same day in the Hybla Valley area.

A police spokeswoman said Tuesday that it’s unknown at this point if [name removed] ‘s disappearance is gang-related.

[name removed] is described as being 5 foot 5 inches tall and 145 pounds with black hair and dark eyes. She was wearing blue jeans, a black shirt and black shoes when she went missing, police said.
