Police blotter: Fairhaven Avenue 7-Eleven robbed at gunpoint
A 7-Eleven in the Penn Daw area was robbed at gunpoint Monday night, according to the Fairfax County Police.
The incident happened around 11:50 p.m. at the 7-Eleven at 2405 Fairhaven Avenue (see map). The robber walked in, pulled a gun on the clerk and then fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
Officers, including the Fairfax1 helicopter, responded to the incident but were unable to find the subject.
Other incident reported in the Mount Vernon police district in Monday’s blotter:
Burglary: Someone entered an apartment in the 7900 block of Janna Lee Avenue on Monday around 12:30 p.m. and stole electronic items.
Larceny: 4500 block of Colony Court, tools from vehicle
Larceny: 2300 block of Huntington Avenue, cash from business
Larceny: 7700 block of Richmond Highway, tiles from business
Larceny: 6400 block of Richmond Highway, vaping fluid from business
Stolen Vehicle: 4300 block of Halfe Street, 2003 Dodge Ram
Since this is the third or fourth robbery that’s occurred at the same 7-Eleven since the beginning of the year, I would like to know what the FCPD is doing about it, and the rest of this crime-ridden corridor? It’s getting worse every year. Who in their right mind is going to choose to reside in the expensive townhouses and apartments that are going up around the corner in the South Alex development? The development is probably going to go belly up. One politician thinks the Route 1 corridor is going to become the next Mosaic District–that’s a ridiculous projection and certainly not reality-based.
