New Dunkin’ Donuts on Telegraph Road opens
The first drive-thru Dunkin’ Donuts in the greater Richmond Highway area is open, and a grand opening celebration is planned for Friday.
The new Dunkin’ Donuts, which opened in late April, is located at 7710 Telegraph Road in a small commercial strip right next to Hayfield Secondary School (see map). The 1,600-square foot building was home to various banks since 1973 but had been vacant since 2015.
The grand opening celebration on Friday will run from 6:30-11 a.m. During that time customers can get a free classic doughnut with any purchase. Dunkin’ mascots Cuppy and Sprinkles will be on hand, and Lee District Supervisor Jeff McKay will join the local franchise group for a ribbon cutting at 9 a.m.
The new location’s hours are from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. Free wifi is available, and the store will employ approximately 20 people, according to Dunkin’.
It is not the first drive through Dunkin Donuts – there used to be one on Richmond Hwy, but they tore it down.

I think it was where the Walgreens is now or the strip next to that. I am pretty sure it was torn down to make room for that or where the Starbucks is now located along that same stretch. I remember driving through on my way to work to get tea and a bagel.
Is it a REAL Dunkin’ Donuts? Like, one that makes its own donuts?
Having been raised on real DD, I’ve been disgusted by the “import them from somewhere else” and “only have 10 varieties in stock” attitudes of the local operations.
They’re like every other Dunkin. They get their donuts shipped in from a regional distributor. Krispy Kreme up the road still makes them fresh. I always stop by when the “Hot Donuts” sign is lit up.
The old Dunkin’ Donuts was on the corner of Route 1 and Boswell…….where Walgreens is now. The classic neighborhood restaurant, Dak’s was also torn down at that time. Since then I’ve heard many, many people lament the loss of Dak’s. It was a special place. And, we also used to go through the Dunkin’ Donuts drive-through at that location.
Nevertheless, I’m glad to see the new Dunkin’ Donuts open on Telegraph Rd. No doubt it will do a lot of business with the Hayfield HS staff and students.
