Police looking for missing 16-year-old girl

The Fairfax County Police reported that the missing girl has been found safe. Because she is a juvenile, her name and image have been removed from the story.

The Fairfax County Police are asking for the public’s help locating a 16-year-old West Potomac student they say is missing and possibly in danger.

[Name removed] was last seen Wednesday morning in the Hybla Valley area, police said Thursday night.

[Name removed] is described as being 5 foot 5 inches tall and 145 pounds with black hair and dark eyes. She was wearing blue jeans, a black shirt and black shoes when she went missing, police said.

A police spokesman said Friday that there is no know connection between [name removed]’s disappearance and the discovery of a body early Thursday in the North Hill wood in Hybla Valley. The victim in that case has yet to be identified, but police said they believe the killing was gang-related.

A Fairfax County Public Schools spokesman confirmed that [name removed] is a student at West Potomac High School.

Anyone who has seen [name removed] is asked to call the police at 703-691-2131.

[name removed] is one of two 16 year olds in the county who are believed to be missing and in danger. Richard Donaldo Hernandez Cruz was last seen April 22 in the 4900 block of Beauregard Street. At a press conference Wednesday after the dead body was found in North Hill, police declined to comment on whether his disappearance was gang-related or had a connection with that case.
