Police blotter: Man accidentally shoots himself in Wegmans parking lot
A man taking his gun out of a hip holster shot himself in the leg while in his car in the Wegmans parking lot, according to Monday’s Fairfax County Police blotter.
The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident, which happened around 7 p.m. on Sunday evening. Nobody else was hit.
According to police, the man was removing his Sig Sauer 320 handgun to get more comfortable while in his vehicle when the gun accidentally discharged.
The man was taken to a hospital for treatment. Police said any decision on charges will be made the the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney.

There are no accidents with guns. This person did not practice basic gun safety, making him dangerous not only to himself but also to everyone around him. He should not be allowed to own or shoot any weapons since it is difficult to fix stupidity.
