Police blotter: Brawl ends in four arrests; bias crime reported
Four men are facing charges after allegedly getting into a fight Wednesday night in the 8200 block of Richmond Highway (see map).
Police say they responded to the brawl around 8:05 p.m., but declined to say specifically where it happened. The fight was apparently a two-on-two matchup, police said, with a 25-year-old man and a 24-year-old man allegedly squaring off with a 29-year-old man and a 36-year-old man.
No injuries were reported, and police declined to say what caused the fight.
The four men face disorderly conduct charges, while one also faces a misdemeanor assault charge.
Bias crime reported
A man was randomly assaulted by another man who yelled racial slurs during the incident inside a restaurant in the 7600 block of Richmond Highway (see map) on Thursday night, according to police.
The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. when the suspect allegedly began yelling slurs at a man on his laptop. The suspect, 35, then allegedly pulled a knife and came at the victim. The two fought for the knife until officers arrived, police said.
The police did not say what restaurant the incident occurred in, nor did they say if there were any injuries.
The suspect was charged with attempted malicious wounding, a felony. He remains in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center as of this posting.
