An armed robbery of a 7-Eleven in the Penn Daw area on Thursday morning was the latest in a spurt of robberies around the Route 1 corridor in the past month.

Nobody was injured in the robbery at 6138 North Kings Highway (see map), which was called in around 6:15 a.m. Police searched the area following the incident, but the suspect was not located. A police spokesman did not have full details about the robbery as of Thursday afternoon.

According to CrimeReports.com, the holdup was at least the 17th robbery reported in corridor area in the past month. In 10 of those robberies the perpetrator or perpetrators threatened the victims with firearms.

Since January 1, there have been 30 robberies in the greater Richmond Highway area, according to CrimeReports.com. Police have not reported injuries in the majority of the robberies.

7-Elevens and food delivery drivers remain a common target during robberies. Three of the convenience stores have been hit in the past two weeks, while two delivery drivers were robbed on the same block on Buckman Road and another was held up just off Buckman within the past two weeks.
