Police blotter: December 31-January 4

The following incidents from the Mount Vernon police district were reported in the Fairfax County Police blotter between December 31 and January 4.

From Friday’s police blotter:

Destruction of Property/Trespassing: An employee of an apartment complex in the 2600 block of Arlington Drive reported that someone had entered a vacant apartment through an unlocked door or window between Dec. 5 and January 3. A window was broken but nothing else was missing or out of place.

Larceny: 2500 block of Parkers Lane, property from vehicle
Larceny: 6300 block of Richmond Highway, cell phones from business
Larceny: 6400 block of Virginia Hills Avenue, clothing from vehicle

Stolen Vehicles: 6600 block of Dorset Drive, 2013 Chevrolet Cruze

Larceny: 3800 block of Needles Place, license plate from vehicle
Larceny: 2500 block of Parkers Lane, wallet and cell phone from residence

From Wednesday’s police blotter:

Robbery: A man reported to officers that around 1:45 a.m. on New Year’s Day a group of unknown men attacked him by punching and kicking him to the ground in 3800 block of Laramie Place. His phone and other property were taken. He was taken to a local hospital for his injuries.

Robbery: A cashier at the Tobacco Colony at 6231 Richmond Highway reported that a man with a gun came into the store while customers were present and stole merchandise on Dec. 31 around 2:36 p.m. No one was injured. The suspect was described as a black man, 30-35 years old, about 6 feet 1 inches, 190-230 pounds, wearing a ski mask, dark grey pants, dark shoes, and a black coat with a fur-lined hood.
