Mexican restaurant coming to Mount Zephyr area

A new tenant has plans to open a restaurant at the old Mike’s location at
8368 Richmond Highway.

A new Mexican restaurant appears to be coming to the building that was home to Mike’s Italian Restaurant for many years. 

Contractors for a restaurant named Las Cazuelas have begun renovating the property at 8368 Richmond Highway (see map), according to Fairfax County permit information. The restaurant already has a website and Facebook page, but a representative from the business could not immediately be reached. 

The building has sat empty since early 2017, when a title loan business closed down after four years. Prior to that the building was home to Mike’s, a longtime Richmond Highway institution before closing its doors in 2011.

    A bulldozer coming to that site would be a better idea. And a few more sites along the corridor.
