The Fairfax County Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man they say tried to abduct a teenage girl last month in the Fairhaven area.

Police say the man walked up to the girl and attempted to pull her into his car on Oct. 20 near the intersection of North Kings Highway and Fairhaven Avenue (see map). The girl was able to get away, and the man then drove off in a red Chevrolet Cruze.

The victim was able to describe the suspect enough for the sketch seen above. Police say he’s a Hispanic man, about 5 foot 6 inches tall and in his 30s. He was wearing all black clothing at the time of the incident.

Police did not say in their press release why the attempted abduction was not reported until Tuesday.

If you have any information about the identity of the suspect, police would like you to contact Detective E.L. Carpenter at 703-246-7800. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Solvers or by calling 1-866-411-TIPS.
