Fairfax County Police say Thodos was spotted driving a stolen Ford Escape in the area of Little River Turnpike and Lincolnia Road this morning. A police chase ensued, with Thodos driving north on Interstate 395 and into the District of Columbia. The Fairfax1 helicopter and officers from multiple jurisdictions assisted in tracking Thodos down, according to the Fairfax County Police.

There were no reports of injuries to any bystanders during the chase.

Thodos had been on the run since the hours-long standoff at the Virginia Lodge. As police went to a motel room to arrest him on outstanding warrants, Thodos threatened to harm himself, triggering a barricade situation. At some point during the standoff, a woman with Thodos ran from the room, and police used the opportunity to enter. However Thodos was gone when they entered, having climbed into an attic and then escaping out through another part of the motel.

Since then Thodos has allegedly been on a crime spree. He’s accused in at least three car thefts, a burglary in the Burgundy Farm neighborhood and rummaging through vehicles in the Belle Haven area.
