Police blotter: Man arrested at West Potomac after being banned from campus, woman robbed on Frye Road

An 18 year old is facing charges after allegedly trespassing onto the grounds of West Potomac High School and then resisting arrest, according to Thursday’s Fairfax County Police blotter.

The suspect was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, trespassing and possession of marijuana after an incident Wednesday where police say he walked onto school property after previously being banned. The school’s resource officer tried to arrest the suspect for trespassing, but the suspect allegedly pushed the officer and tried running away.

The officer chased the suspect and the two struggled before a second officer arrived and the suspect was subdued and handcuffed.

Police said nobody was injured in the scuffle.

The suspect had previously been charged with misdemeanor possession of a weapon (not a firearm) at West Potomac in early September, according to Fairfax County General District Court records.  He is also due in court in November for two misdemeanor drug charges.

Woman assaulted during robbery

A woman was hit with a beer bottle during a robbery near the 7-Eleven on Frye Road on Wednesday evening, according to police.

The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. when she was approached by three men. One man “began slashing a box cutter toward the victim,” police said, forcing the victim to try and walk away. At that point another man threw the bottle, striking the woman in the head. The men proceeded to take her backpack before fleeing on foot.

Two of the men were described as being white, approximately 26 years old, 5 foot 6 inches tall and thin. No description of the third suspect was given.

Worker assaulted

A 56-year-old man faces charges of drunk and pubic and malicious wounding after allegedly grabbing a Paisano’s Pizza employee by her neck Wednesday afternoon.

The man was allegedly harassing customers on the patio area outside the restaurant, which is located in the 7700 block of Fordson Road (see map). The employee came outside and asked the suspect to leave, at which point police say he became upset and began throwing chairs. He then allegedly grabbed the woman by the neck, causing a cut.
