Police blotter: Robbery suspect arrested after trying to flee
A man wanted for malicious wounding and robbery was apprehended after officers came across him early Tuesday morning in the Groveton area, according to Tuesday’s Fairfax County Police blotter.
The 23-year-old suspect was spotted by an officer allegedly “stumbling” around 2 a.m. in the 2800 block of Beacon Hill Road (see map), according to the police. Other officers realized the man matched the description of a suspect in an earlier robbery and malicious wounding, but before he could be taken into custody, the suspect allegedly pushed officers and tried to flee. An unidentified good Samaritan helped Police get Bailey into handcuffs, police said.
In addition to the outstanding malicious wounding and robbery charges, the man was charged with drunk in public, obstruction of justice and assault on a law enforcement officer. Police did not give details on when and where the malicious wounding and robbery took place.
