Located on historic King Street in Old Town Alexandria, the 16th Annual King Street Art Festival will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The art festival was postponed from Sept. 15 and 16 due to forecasted inclement weather from Hurricane Florence.

Alexandria has become well known for its incredible arts and culture scene, and the King Street Art Festival is no exception. Bursting with spectacular paintings, life-size sculptures, jewelry, photography, ceramics and more, and nestled alongside beautifully-preserved classic architecture, Washington, D.C. will feel like a world away.

The festival transforms Alexandria’s famous main street, from Washington Street to the Potomac waterfront, into a world-class outdoor art gallery. The six blocks will be lined with festival booths featuring original fine artwork by more than 200 artists from the U.S. and abroad.

The Art League’s popular Ice Cream Bowl Fundraiser will also return, offering a variety of over 1,400 handmade bowls created by talented artists of the The Art League’s Ceramics department. For only $15, you can get a bowl and a scoop of ice cream. Proceeds go to benefit The Art League’s Ceramics department and participants may enter a free drawing to win ceramic artwork and an Art League gift certificate.

Whether you come for the food or the art, the festival offers something for everybody, from live music and interactive activities to The Torpedo Factory Art Center’s Beer & Wine Torpedo Garden. Plus, admission is free!
