Job fair to be held at South County Government Center on Oct. 2

Representatives from more than 40 local employers will be on hand for a job fair Oct. 2 at the South County Government Center.

The fair, which is being organized by New Hope Housing in partnership with OAR Fairfax and the Fairfax Chapter of the NAACP, will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The South County Government Center is located at 8350 Richmond Highway (see map).

Admission is free, but organizers encourage anyone attending to register ahead of time here.

Candidates of all ages and experience levels are encouraged to attend. Professional dress is required, and interviews will be done on site.

Candidates with resumes are encouraged to bring multiple copies. Volunteers will also be on site at computer stations to help job seekers  draft or update resumes and search online for job openings.

If you want to prepare ahead of time, there will be a session for job seekers hosted by SKILLSOURCE at the South County Government Center on September 26 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The class will help job seekers research employers and job openings, apply online in advance, and prepare resumes.
