Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Sharon Bulova will be at the Franconia Governmental Center on Wednesday evening to talk with residents about various issues in the county.

Bulova is a special guest at the monthly meeting of the Lee District Association of Civic Organizations, an umbrella group of civic and homeowners associations in the district. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. and is open to the public.

The topics of the discussion will include the county’s new rules regarding short-term rentals (Airbnb, etc.), modernization of zoning regulations in Fairfax and the county’s renewed push to combat car tax evaders.

Bulova, a Democrat, was first elected to the Board of Supervisors in 1988 as Braddock District supervisor. In 2009 she won a special election to become board chairman, replacing Gerry Connolly after his election to the U.S. House.
