The 18-year-old ex-boyfriend of Jholie Moussa has been convicted of assaulting her in two incidents prior to her death, WUSA9’s Peggy Fox reported Wednesday.

The ex-boyfriend, who was a minor at the time of the assaults, pleaded guilty today in Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. He was sentenced to 12 months in jail, with 11 months suspended — meaning he will serve a month behind bars, Fox reported.

The ex-boyfriend, who has not been identified by police, was named a “person of interest” days after Jholie was found murdered in Woodlawn Park earlier this year. He has not been charged with any crimes in relation to her death, however.

Moussa, 16, disappeared after walking out of her Mount Zephyr-area home on Jan. 12. The Mount Vernon High School sophomore was found dead on Jan. 26 by police searching Woodlawn Park.

It is not known when or how Moussa died. Fox reported previously that the state medical examiner is not releasing the cause of death at the request of the Fairfax County Police because the investigation into her death is ongoing.

Fox’s full report can be read on Facebook.
