Police blotter: Woman assaulted, robbed getting into car at Beacon Center

A woman suffered minor injuries during a robbery at the Beacon Center on Monday afternoon, according to Tuesday’s Fairfax County Police blotter.

The incident happened around 5 p.m. in the popular shopping center’s parking lot, which is located at 6600 block of Richmond Highway (see map). Police say the assailant grabbed the woman and stole her wallet from her hand while she was getting into her car.

Witnesses told police that the suspect, who was described as a black male between the age of 30-40 years old, ran to a black SUV after accosting the woman and drove away.
