Police blotter: August 6-August 10

From Thursday’s blotter:

Traffic Pursuit: Around 11:05 p.m. an officer observed a vehicle traveling south on Richmond Highway near Belford Drive with illegal tint on the windows. The officer tried to stop the vehicle, but it sped away. Eventually the vehicle stopped and the driver got out and ran. Other officers responding to the area found the driver and took him into custody.

Alvin Donkor, 25, of Alexandria, was arrested for driving with a revoked license, disregarding police command to stop with endangerment to others (felony), and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Burglary: A resident in the 5800 block of Governors Hill Drive called 911 to report that a man was breaking down his front door around 1:19 p.m. on Wednesday. When officers arrived at the house, they saw that the front door was open and damaged. The resident provided a detailed description for officers, which was shared with the community. As officers were looking for the man and checking for other possible victims, another resident called in after seeing the man in the area. Officers responded to this location and took the man into custody. Several houses were broken into and burglarized.

Delonte Antwain Wright, 35, of Alexandria, was arrested and charged with burglary (three charges) and grand larceny (two charges).

From Wednesday’s blotter:

Attempted Burglary: An employee reported that two men entered a business in the 7600 block of Richmond Highway on Tuesday morning around 4:30 a.m. The employee saw the men pry open the front door and attempt to steal an ATM on the business’s camera system. When the men were not able to steal it, they pried the pharmacy doors open. After hearing an alarm, the two men fled in a light colored, newer model SUV. Nothing was taken, but both doors were damaged.
