A much-anticipated family-friendly sports restaurant, Glory Days Grill, opened its doors Monday at its new location in Alexandria.

Here’s the special schedule for this week at the restaurant, located at 3141 Duke St., in the Alexandria Commons shopping center, as well as the date of the grand opening:

  • Monday, Aug. 20-Thursday, Aug. 23: Open for dinner only starting at 4 p.m.
  • Normal hours will begin Friday, Aug. 24, when the new restaurant will also be open for lunch.
  • The grand opening for the restaurant is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 6 from 5-9 p.m.

The extensive menu includes everything from chicken wings and burgers to Cobb salad and barbecued ribs. A gluten-free menu is also available. This Glory Days Grill location will include a large banquet room, patio seating and catering.

The new Glory Days Grill in Alexandria replaces Lone Star Steak House. This is Glory Days Grill is the 15th location in Virginia — the closest one to Alexandria is at Barcroft Plaza in Falls Church.

The hours of this location are still to be determined, but other Glory Days Grills in Virginia open at 11 or 11:30 a.m. and close at 11 p.m. or midnight daily.

In a press release earlier this year, Jeff Newman, president and co-founder, said, “We are excited to open Glory Days Grill in the west end of Alexandria. I know the local community will enjoy our sports themed and family-friendly restaurant. Our neighbors will also benefit from Glory Days’ commitment and deep ties to local schools.”
