A Cameron Elementary School teacher was arrested last week and charged with five felony counts of using a communication system for crimes against children, the Hanover (Va.) County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday.

Ryan Thomas PIck, 40, was arrested by Hanover investigators on August 21, according to a press release from the department. A Woodbridge resident, Pick is being held without bond at Pamunkey Regional Jail, the release said. The investigation into the case is said to be ongoing, and the sheriff’s office did not give any more details.

WTOP.com, citing court documents, said Pick is charged with a felony count of proposing sex to a minor and four counts of sex offense with a minor by computer. WTOP said the alleged incident happened on July 10.

Pick worked as a music teacher at Cameron, which is the neighborhood school for parts of the Huntington and northern Telegraph Road areas (see map). A Fairfax County Public Schools spokesman said Pick was put on unpaid leave last week after his arrest.
