Suspect remains at large after Telegraph Road bank robbery

A man who pulled a gun during a bank robbery Tuesday afternoon near the Huntington area remains at large after getting away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robbery happened shortly after 1 p.m. at the Burke & Herbert Bank at 5733 Telegraph Road (see map). According to the police, a man walked in wearing a blue construction helmet and a green reflective vest, displayed his weapon and demanded money. He fled on foot after the heist, and police searched for him in the nearby neighborhoods to no avail.

There were no injuries in the incident, police said.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 30s, clean-shaven and approximately 6 feet tall and 190 pounds.
