Police blotter: Delivery driver able to escape robbery attempt

A delivery driver for a local restaurant escaped a robbery attempt Saturday night near Frye Road, according to Monday’s Fairfax County Police blotter.

The attempted holdup happened around 11:20 p.m. in the 8100 block of Keeler Street (see map). After the driver left his car, a stranger came up from behind him and demanded money, police said. The driver ran away, and was able to get back to his car safely and drive off, according to police.

No description of the perpetrator was given.

The location of the attempted robbery is only blocks away from where two delivery men were robbed on back-to-back nights in February.
