Gunston Commerce Center — a nine-building property in Lorton that’s home to Five Guys’ corporate headquarters, the General Services Administration and several defense contractors among other tenants — is up for sale, according to a July 25 report by Bisnow.

Property developer and owner I-95 Business Parks Management (I-95 BPM) has selected Avison Young, a Toronto-based commercial real estate company with offices in the Washington, D.C. area, to help market and sell Gunston Commerce Center, which has more than 850,000 total square feet of space. Two of the buildings—including one exclusively with retail space—are located on Richmond Highway at Furnace Road, while the others are located on Furnace Road.

Because of the property’s proximity to Fort Belvoir, Quantico and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, it is considered a prime location for government contractors.

Some additional history on Gunston Commerce Center:

  • In 2014, the R.W Murray Co., a commercial construction company, won an Associated Builders and Contractors Award of Excellence for its work on Gunston Commerce Center, Building 3, which serves as corporate headquarters for Five Guys Burgers and Fries. The building features views of the Potomac and Occoquan Rivers, as well as a lobby that “mimics the typical Five Guys restaurant with red and white tile, tall tables, Freestyle Coke machine and signature peanut boxes,” according to R.W. Murray Co.’s website.
  • In 2010, a Krispy Kreme plant moved out of its Gunston Commerce Center site at 10400 Furnace Road following a legal battle with Fairfax County, which successfully sued the doughnut maker for alleged damage to its sewer system.
