Police blotter: Two arrested after stun gun used during motel robbery

Two people were arrested Friday morning after police say they used a stun gun on a patron during a robbery at the Virginia Lodge motel.

Amin Rollins Lockhart, 23, of Falls Church, and India Tyler, 19, of Manassas each face charges of robbery and felony use of a firearm, according to Fairfax County General District Court records. Lockhart also faces misdemeanor charges of marijuana possession and larceny.

According to police, the victim was approached around 8:45 a.m. by a woman who knocked on his door at the motel, which is located at 6027 Richmond Highway (see map). The woman asked for change for a $10 bill, but the person in the motel room refused, police said. Moments later, the woman returned carrying with a stun gun along with a man holding a BB gun, according to police.

The woman then used the stun gun on the victim, and the assailants grabbed cash and cell phones before feeling. Police said that officers responding to the robbery were able to identify Lockhart and Tyler, but did not say how.

Another robbery were reported early Sunday in the Mount Zephyr area in the 8400 block of Richmond Highway (see map). Police say the victim was assaulted and robbed while walking home from a restaurant. The assailants took the man’s wallet and phone.

The victim was treated for his injuries at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital, police said.
