New restaurant coming to shopping center near Mount Vernon Memorial Highway

Ocampo Cafe will be opening in the former Occasionally Cake location.

A new restaurant is coming to a small shopping center near the intersection of Richmond Highway and Mount Vernon Memorial Highway.

Ocampo Cafe has been issued construction permits to remodel the space at 8859 Richmond Highway (see map), according to county records online. The restaurant is taking over a spot that was occupied by Occasionally Cake from 2009 until November of last year. The shopping center also hosts a Vocelli Pizza, Allied Cash Advance and Tobacco World.

Attempts to reach the owners of the new restaurant were unsuccessful. The restaurant does not appear to have a website or Facebook page at this time.
